Hands of Grace

One of the things I truly regret about living away from my family is missing out on ballgames and other performances.  I have been very blessed this past summer and have been able to be home for several very important events and am very grateful for that.  Claire takes part in a program called “Hands of Grace” at her church, Crossway Baptist, just outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  The children learn sign language to songs and then perform them for the church.  I cannot be there for the performance, but I was allowed to sit in and even take pictures at a recent practice.  I watched their leader, Miss Gina, patiently teaching the kids (ages ranged from about 7 on up through high school) the sign language for the song “Until the Whole World Knows” by Casting Crowns.  I was surprised at how many signs she showed them at once.  I really don’t think I could have remembered all those signs!  I was enjoying watching the process but I was not prepared for the emotions it brought forth when they added the music.  It was so beautiful to watch those kids signing and many of them showing emotion to that song – I loved it!!  I so wish I could be here when they perform it at their Praise and Worship service in November.  I guess I will just have to count on Jennifer getting me the DVD, unless of course I find some more $39 Southwest tickets!  In the mean time, here are the pictures I took of our Claire-bear (who by the way happens to be the youngest in the group and does an amazing job – and I’m not just saying that because she’s my niece!)
